Being a former military base, it's a huge towered-airport but seemed like I was the only one at this time. It's suppose to be busier on weekdays. Even with a taxi diagram on hand, I had to ask for progressive because the airport is so vast. After a long taxi, I was met by a line person to the transient parking. FBO was just taken over by Atlantic Aviation and in the process of making changes. That included charging landing fees even for transients not buying fuel. For some reason, the FBO staff waived me the charges that day even if I did not buy fuel. Maybe they were just glad someone visited them that day, otherwise the whole airport was a very lonely place. |

My sister Loy and my co-pilot Tim: My sister was picking us up from Mather. This airport could be a very convenient and strategically located airport for those doing business in Sacramento. But the new fees imposed even for transient flyers could be discouraging. |
