Alex's Flying Trips

Columbia (O22) Revisited

April 28, 2012 Napa (APC) - Columbia (O22) Revisited

Last time I landed in Columbia was Sept. 26, 2008. But on that visit, I never got the chance to check-out the famous Columbia Historic Park. So, as the weather finally cleared up for some VFR flying, time to revisit Columbia. This time, Susan was my co-pilot.

The entire flight was awesome. Visibility was great, air was relatively smooth, and the plane was just humming along. I took the Piper Archer II this time.

After landing, some "old-timers" hanging around the airport pointed to me the entrance to the walking trail to town. It's about a mile of easy walk from airport to the historic park. About half of the trail is "nature trail" through wooded areas and comes out next to the town's elementary school. The other half is walking along sidewalk to town.
