Willows Airport is another popular fly-in
destination for Nor Cal pilots mainly because
of Nancy's Restaurant. It's right next to the airport
and open 24 hours. Food and service are good.
And the prices reasonable.
It also has clean restrooms (-important
after a long cross country).
If you want to do some shopping, there's a
Super K right across the airport. Self serve fuel
is always alot cheaper than in my
home base. It's also easy to navigate --
just follow I-5 North and you won't miss it.
The runways and taxiways are in good condition.
I was not able to contact Rancho Radio FSS
frequencies listed in AOPA directory from the ground
and aloft.
There's a phone booth outside Nancy's that can be used
to close flight plans and get briefings.
