This is Part II of the Descipleship/Evangelism training. Part I was held in July/August 2017. This time, we were blessed to have Janet Sarcos from the Philippine Campus Crusade (-remember, she had an accident last year and was unable to participate in Part I; click here for link to Part I. She and Alex tagged team to lead the training retreat.
Same as Part I, retreat was held at the CENDET facility in Cebu City where the attendees also stayed overnight. As an ice breaker to start the retreat, attendess shared their interests.
We're also thankful for the Cebu Conference Minister for allowing us to use the office conference room as an additional venue; here, we were having devotion to start the day. |
So inspiring to observe all participants very engaged and eager to learn. |
We're so thankful to our first guest speaker, Jeneveb. She inspired us with her personal testimony, and leading the discussion on motivating new believers. Jeneveb is also math professor in Cebu Normal University. |
We're also thankful to our second guest speaker, Jane, for inspiring us with her own testimony, and leading the discussion in organizing and writing personal testimonies. She even shared writing techniques she learned as a current Law Student. |
Second part of the training was set aside to practice sharing the gospel among themselves. |
And more practice time. |
And now, the practicum portion of the training --- the attendees were sent to the Visayas Community Medical Center to minister the sick and those in need of spiritual uplifting. |
Our youths in action ministering to the sick, |
... sharing Christ, |
... praying with them, |
...and more prayers. |
We're also thankful to the hospital chaplain for accompanying us. |
After the hospital visit, Janet leading the debriefing. |
Time to go back home and apply the training to the real world. |
