Flyers advertising the free eye and medical clinic in San Felipe

Oct. 20, 2018 Update - 2018 Annual Medical Mission Trip to San Felipe, Mexico

Susan and Alex, together with Danny and Trini Miniano, had another opportunity to be part of this year's eye and medical clinics in San Felipe, Mexico as part of the Flying Samaritans. As with previous medical clinics, this was a joint effort with the local Lions Club and the Mission San Felipe Church. The eye clinic saw 200 patients. At the other side of the town, a free medical clinic was held by volunteer doctors and nurses --- specializing in family medicine, pediatrics and OB GYN --- and saw about 50 patients. Trini, being a registered nurse, was part of the the medical clinic team; Alex, Susan and Danny were helping at the eye clinic.

Below are some of the picture highlights of the trip:

The trip started at the Vacaville Nut Tree airport.
Then stopped by at Calexico to pick-up Danny and Trini before proceeding to Mexico.

Like previous years, a line already formed early before we opened the clinic at Mission San Felipe church.

Additional pre-screening stations before seeing Dr. John, our volunteer optometrist.
This is the final station where patients will be given free prescription glasses.
At the other side of the town, the medical team checked on patients in a medical clinic. The medical team included volunteer nurses and doctors in the field of family medicine, pediatrics and OB GYN. Trini, being a registered nurse, was part of the medical team.

Awesome sunrise as we prepare to fly back to the USA.
We again thanked God for the safe travel and the opportunity to serve others. We hope that others were blessed, especially those who may not have the means to have their eyes checked, but now can see clearly; and for those with medical problems that got addressed by our volunteer medical professionals.
